A good, serviceable Indian eatery. Food and service are consistent, and of above average quality. Nothing spectacular but then again, we've never had any sort of problem. As it's the only Indian place in town, we've been there a couple of dozen times with the only complaint being their house wine is overpriced.

Best I have found since leaving Indianapolis

my first Indian food
I ate here not knowing what to expect. We were completely in the dark about what to order so just took a stab. Everything tasted and smelled wonderful. Since our first visit we have been back several times. I have recommended this place to anyone who asks me about Indian food. I found out many people drive from Gainesville to eat Amrit Palace. Best Indian in 1 hour Radius of Gainesville
The person who said people drive from Gainesville to go here wasn't kidding: I'm one of them. I can't believe a cool college town doesn't have a single decent authentic Indian Restaurant, but we don't. The one's we have are overpriced for less than mediocre food. It's worth the 45 min drive to Ocala (1.5 hours round trip). I can't stand the atmosphere, but the food makes it worth it.    [30 Jul 2007 21:29:05]

Great Indian food
