Excellent Experience I recently scheduled a function for a prospective new client and his staff. The evening was extremely important and I was very nervous and anxious as I was trying to impress this client in order to "seal the deal". I conveyed my feeling with the owner, Marge Felix, and she understood completely and was extraordinarily accommodating. The evening, the food, the services....WOW!!! The Chef, Loring Felix, even visited our guest and truly created an awesome evening for us all. My guests were beyond shocked when the General Manager, Robert, offered us Groth Cabernet Sauvignon as well as other selections of fine wines by the glass...what a treat! Shane, our server, is unmistakably a great server whom never missed a beat...kudos to him. Deserts; simply scrumptious. I would like to say thanks to Felix’s’ entire staff for creating this magnificent evening. My guests were really impressed that Ocala offers such an excellent restaurant. Impressed to the point that I was awarded the account! Definitely my top choice in planning for future engagements!! [30 Jun 2006 08:08:36]

Excellent Food, So-So Service We have dined at Felix's twice since I retired and moved back to Marion County four years ago.
They aspire to fine dining, and mostly achieve that aspiration, with a couple of exceptions.
They really need to establish some sort of minimal dress code. When you are indulging in a $100 plus evening of food and wine, you do not expect to have people sitting next to you in jeans, tee shirts, and shorts.
Bringing a tray of glasses of iced tea to a table with straws protruding from them is downright tacky.
The food is always wonderful, and presented in a way that shows some imagination.
The Tiramisu was adequate, but was sitting in a sea of some sort of sauce, which almost ruined the experience.
The wine list was very good. [11 Nov 2006 09:35:12]
