Laid back island atmosphere with a super friendly staff having a good time! Don't see this in many restaurants!
Food different from the usual chain sameness. Best Gator I've ever had, and a fantastic Grouper sandwich reminiscent of the Keys. We stayed overnite just to try their breakfast and had the BEST French toast made from a whole loaf of their own bread with touches of coconut and brandy topped with real butter and 100% maple syrup. Mama, I've died and gone to heaven.

We will definitely stop here every time we pass thru Ocala!    [20 Dec 2001 07:46:38]

Very Rude
I eat at this restaurant about three times a month with people from work. The owner/manager did not know who I was out of uniform. My parents and I took my visting aunt there for lunch after raving about the food all day. Food was great as always. At check out we bought some gift items and he said let me get a box from the back. When he returned he said nothing to my aunt reached past her and rang out another customer, still say nothing he picked up a box and came around the counter filling a display. My aunt said she didn't want to wait that long to make her purchase. His respose was OK and took her items off the counter. He should have acknowledged her when he came back by tell her he found a box and let the other customer wait until he finished with her. I was very embarassed after have told her how often we there. She said it doesn't look like they appreciate your steady business.    [21 Apr 2003 21:29:30]

Great Fun - Great Atmosphere - Great Staff - Fantastic Foods
If you're in the mood for a different place to go out of the typical chain restaurants...then here's the place. We had a great laugh at Huck Finn's while dining with our guests. It's been a constant pleasure eating at Huck Finn's each time we're in town. Can't image why anyone would like to complain about this place. We always enjoy our time there. Our waitress was extremely funny and we all had a good laugh. Free drinks were also available when we went there the other night. Nice touch Huck Finn's.

Post-Holiday Visit
12/26/05-My wife and I were returning to Tallahassee from a Christmas visit to family in Orlando. We will usually choose an independent restaurant over a chain. Lucky for us we came across Huck Finns in their final hour of service. There were still a hand full of locals enjoying a late lunch, as we were seated in a lovely booth and offered a beverage.

Our server was atired in a black AC/DC tee and sported a spikey hair style -- very polite and cute.

We each ordered The florida Fried Fish platter from the menu and a second beer. When our food arrived, the generous portion of fish hung over the edges of the over sized platters. My wife requested some additional lemon and we barely had time to set down the salt shaker before she returned.

Considering the portions, the price was very fair. We look forward to dining with you again.

Breakfast at Huckleberry's
Eight of us decided to try this restaurant for breakfast. Found the food very good, portions were huge and the wait staff was attentive. A good place to go if you are tired of the chains. Got quite busy after 1100AM on Sunday so you might have a wait.    [13 Mar 2006 18:13:41]
