Great Food, Indifferent Service Visited this new establishment for dinner and were pleasantly surprised by the quality (and amount) of the food. The new decor was quite beautiful (even though the craftsmanship of the wood was at a child's level).
The Chicken Satay (they call it Sa-Teh) and Nam Sod appetizers were some of the best we've had.
For the entree, I was in the mood for both and the Panang Chicken, and they kindly prepared Panang Pork even though it was not on the menu. The pork was thinly sliced and superb. My wife enjoyed a large Duck Surprise which had some of the best vegetables in a spicy red chili sauce ever.
Unfortunately, service was slow and indifferent. One would expect a new restaurant to happily greet their new customers at the door, flit around the tables and smile a lot. Not so. Greeting was dour, service slow (with only 6 tables active on a Thursday), and not UNfriendly, but just like they were going through the motions. Simply unattentive and it took frantic hand-waving to get attention for additional rice.
My particular peeve is taking used appetizer silverware and putting them back on the place mat. At least they didn't argue when I requested fresh implements.
We will go back because of the food and I really hope they learn the basics of friendly service. [14 Nov 2003 08:22:59]

great food This restaurant was superb in its quality of food and service. It is run by very friendly Thai people. After all, what would you expect from the friendliest people in the world? [22 Nov 2003 00:54:49]

Great food Great Service Stepped in here one evening expecting little more than a carry out restaurant. We were both pleasantly surprised with our dining experience. My husband immediately declared it his favorite restaurant and vowed to return next month for his birthday.
We had a Thai Ruby Sampler to start. Then I had asked our server for her recommendation after telling her that I loved peanut sauce. She recommended the Amazing Chicken and was right on the spot! The name of the dish is an accurate description!
My husband ordered something else, and it was good, very good, but not as memorable as what I had. In fact I had to share mine as we both preferred my choice, mainly because we had both been looking for a good satay dish since moving from the Netherlands two years ago. [15 Dec 2004 11:27:39]

My new favorite! You would never expect, as you walked in the door, that you were about to eat the best in Ocala. From outside, it could be any other strip mall joint. The experience lies with in. We enjoyed the amazing welcoming service and the "oh my gosh, you've got to try this" food. Everything was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. Even a smoker could enjoy this food with their dead taste buds because the flavor is so lively. [19 Oct 2005 08:23:33]

Darling
Getting expensive and less on your plate I guess they know they're here to stay. They have their favorite customers come in almost every week. My husband and I are one of them. But I have to say, the price changes are a bit much for the amount you now receive. Have been going with my family for some time now,(2 young ones-who love it too) and it surprises us all that we feel we could eat another plate full. Still love the food and service, but I won't be going as often. [21 Sep 2007 11:06:14]
