Sam Snead's is a typical fern bar but with a golf theme. There is lots of fun Sam Snead memorabilia on the walls and the design theme is the rich greens and browns of a comfortable 19th hole.

Unfortunately, the meals offered are nothing special as you will find the typical bar-type sandwiches and burgers for lunch. The dinner menu is mostly pastas and meats plus a selection of steaks. Granted the beef is prime Angus but one would expect a little more creativity with the menu.

The nightly specials (4 or 5 last night) are a little more inventive but still mundane. Last evening they had duck on special (unfortunately it was a steam table product) and several variations on Something and Lobster.

Desserts, again, were predictable. The Sam's Apple Crisp was a little too soggy and breadlike for my taste.    [05 May 2001 10:21:35]
