Hidden jewel out in the open Just stopped in yesterday to check it out, due to the unusual name.
The atmosphere was a rare surprise in an area surrounded by fast foods. Food portions are reasonable for the price, and all look well prepared. Suggest you ask (unposted) bar prices before ordering to avoid shock. [05 Mar 2003 09:19:45]

MMMMMM Pub with a lot of possibility. Prices are a bit dear for the fare one recieves. Lack of entertainment, bar space, and televisions, leave one staring at the back wall whilst drinking a pint. One also wonders who the owner is this week. [24 Apr 2004 20:26:46]

My favourite! I was a patron of the H&J for years until I moved to California. I always took friends and family from in or out of town there, too. My friends from Scotland were thoroughly impressed and we ended up going twice in their 2 week stay. The atmosphere is lovely (decorated my library at home in H&J style), and the people are just wonderful. I will be opening my own restaurant soon and the pub will be modeled after the H&J. TV in pubs
Pubs are meant for people to socialize, no TV's please.
The Horse & Jockey is about as close as you are going to get to a British pub. The Beer and food is very good, the atmosphere is great. No loud music with people whooping and screaming for seamingly no reason.
The servers are very nice, and refrain from calling you Hun, and Sweetie all the time. I would recommend it to anyone. [28 Mar 2005 21:18:17]
