Wow Went last night with my 4 year old little girl, my date and her 2 year old little boy.
We sat outside on "Flounder's Beach". The kids played in the sand, played on the play ground equipment, watched the volleyball players, and for about 2 hours just had a great time. They even ate really well and the cherry cokes came with free refills.
My date and I had a wonderful dinner of fresh local seafood and one of the best pieces of prime rib I've ever had. The drinks were also awsome.
I believe this would have been wonderful even if we didn't have the children, but the environment was a terrific mix of family food and fun.
We'd reccomend Flounders to anyone and everyone. [01 Sep 2001 11:27:14]

I Remember I live in Iowa and haven't been to Florida since 1995 but still I remember Flounder's as the my family's favorite Florida restaurant! I just came across a frizbee that one of my children's lunches was served in. They had fun there. The atmosphere and service was great and the food was wonderful! I can't forget, and wish I had the recipe for, the Key Lime Pie; it was the best I've ever had. [12 Sep 2002 11:47:07]

GREAT food! My date and I each had the 'Chef's Salad'. The portions were very large and the price was very reasonable. Try the raspberry vinaigrette dressing, it's wonderful. [16 Mar 2003 09:00:40]

Best Restaurant in Florida! Hello, I just got back from Pensacola Beach, Florida & just so happened to stumble up on Flounder's Chowder House restaurant. It was myself with my daughter, whom is 3 years old and a few more family members. I have to say that this restaurant is all about atmosphere. I mean, I enjoyed the food (White Chowder was the best), but the atmosphere was not only for adults, but my child enjoyed the pirate who does balloon stories & gives the prizes. There is a large playground for the kids also, in eye view of your table with staff on hand to watch them. Anyway, it was a very enjoyable experience! I will be back! [16 Jun 2003 09:50:38]

Best Key Lime Pie Flounders has the best key lime pie ever! No other restaurant can even begin to compare. I always have to go by if I am passing anywhere near Pensacola. Just hope it is still there after Hurricane Ivan. [23 Sep 2004 21:22:57]

TRY THE KEYLIME PIE!!! This is a very family-oriented restaurant, but if you go after dark there are also a few romantic little corners that offer a wonderful couples experience.
You HAVE to finish the meal with the Key Lime Pie. Order ONE serving and share it (because it's romantic and the portion is HUGE). They pile up three pieces on top of each other, smother it in whipped topping and lime syrup, and call it one serving, but it's priced like a single slice. [18 Apr 2007 13:27:16]

Good food, needs a plan to seat people!
This is a great place to dock the boat and let the kids play.
The food is always tasty but the ability to seat people is often a problem. If there is a seat in the shade but no server for that section, forget it. The seats will remain empty and you will wait for an hour or more. You can't order a kids meal from one of the many empty bar tables. The waitress had to ask permission to serve fries at the bar table. Wouldn't that make you more thirsty and you'd need to order more drinks? Where's the business logic? [26 Jun 2007 08:56:51]
