UPSET WE HAVE EATEN AT YOUR PLACE OFTEN AND HAVE ALWAYS BEEN SATISFIED UNTIL TO-NITE DEC.27,2006. I ORDERED THE 1/2 BROASTED CHICKEN. I RECEIVED 2 WINGS AND 2 BREASTS. NEVER SAW A 1/2 CHICKEN LIKE THAT.ALSO IT WAS NOT THE USUAL BROASTED BUT TASTED LIKE DEEP FRIED KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN. I RETURNED IT AND SAID I DID NOT WANT IT REPLACED AS OTHERS AROUND US HAD WAITED AN UNUSUAL AMOUNT OF TIME TO BE CORRECTED. MGR. TOOK CHICKEN OFF CHECK BUT CHARGED ME FOR FRIED SHRIMP THAT I SAID I DIDN'T WANT. IN ADDITION SALAD BAR WAS MESSY AND NOT UP TO YOUR STANDARDS. THE DESERT BAR WAS DEPLETED AND NO EFFORT MADE TO RESTOCK. OVERALL A GREAT DISAPPOINTMENT. [27 Dec 2006 22:09:36]

Back on Track This is one of the best places to eat in town. They serve excellent food, and a lot of it, at very reasonable prices. The Broasted chicken is the best anywhere. There were some problems last year with the General Manager but they now have a new manager and the place is getting back to the way it was before. It's definitely worth trying again! So you want French? To all you food snobs out there, eating in a restaurant that specializes in ribs and chicken at a very reasonable price with your intention to eat as much as you can should leave no room for complaint.

The Pit has been around for many years. When Bob Riechman retired as manager there was a gap in it's consistency of quality even though he is still an owner. Since he returned as an adviser the Pit has improved, but will never have the personality it lost. Mr. Bob knew most of the customers by name and made sure his staff was professional and friendly.
