Eclectic Bistro fare served in a 1880's home with beautiful courtyard dining under a 100 year old oak tree...heaters in winter. Adjoining martini bar with music set in a metropolitan atmosphere.

Great food, stylish setting, attentive service
One of the best endorsements of Cortesse's Bistro is the number of "locals" who eat there (including me). The decor, the romantic garden patio, the hip cocktail lounge, all sophisticated yet relaxed - you feel comfortable here. The staff - from servers to busboys to bartenders - is very well trained and attentive. The manager, Michael Smythe, is a dynamo. He seems to be everywhere at once making sure everything is perfect. The menu has something for everyone, nice salads, steak, lamb, seafood. The wine list is good, too. I love their house-cured dill salmon appetizer! That and a bowl of the artichoke soup and glass of wine make a nice light meal. Another plus: This is one of the few St. Augustine restaurants that stays open late - so you don't have to settle for cardboard takeout pizza if you're hungry after 8 p.m.    [07 Aug 2004 21:31:41]

My favorite spot in St. Augustine
Every time I'm in St. Augustine, I eat at Cortesse's. I love it! I love the atmosphere... it's a beautiful place with the option of eating indoors or outdoors... both are charming and romantic. Or just nice for a single person to relax alone and think.    [14 Sep 2007 10:35:06]
