Hook's Sushi Bar & Thai Food My favorite place to eat sushi is Hook's Sushi Bar & Thai Food. It's in St. Petersburg, FL on the West side of 9th Street at 12th Avenue. Chef Hook offers not only traditional varieties of sushi, but some of his own unique taste bud pleasers as well. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very casual and laid back-- nothing pretentious here. Which goes with their motto "All Fish and No Bull!".
The only thing I'd have to say that needs some work is their wait staff, but lately I've seen a noticeable improvement in this area.
They have an extensive menu that serves up Chinese, Thai & Japanese Foods.

Hook's Sushi Bar & Thai Food Hook's sushi and Thai Food is an amazing restaurant in downtown St. Pete, Florida. I go there regularly and enjoy their numerous amount of dishes, including sushi, thai, chinese, and japenese. The chef Hook, is very friendly, and made friends with us and tries to make you welcome to his place. My favorite dish is the Mexican Roll. They just recently re-decorated their place, and it's looking really nice. [01 Jan 2004 19:55:10]

We loved Hooks! I'm visiting from Calif where I have all my favorite sushi restauants. Decided to treat my father to a sushi lunch. Picked Hooks based on the good reviews, and it was awesome. All our food was exceptional. The tuna just melted in your mouth. and the chef made his specialty - a TST roll and it was fabulous. Dad can't wait to go back. [07 Jun 2005 17:07:15]

I believe Hook can make something to please anyone. He made rolls for me from hot pepper instead of seaweed, lightly battered and fried for just a second or two. It was great.
