12th Street Cafe!
Excellent food and service! This restaurant is an outstanding example of the restaurants of days gone by. It is a small restaurant across from the local ballpark with a real home-town feel. The owners, Gus and Diane, are wonderful folks and their food is sumptuous! Also of important note: My husband and I decided to dine out one Thanksgiving because our kids were out-of-town and we found ourselves looking for somewhere to dine. Not at all expecting a traditional Thanksgiving meal, we went to 12th Street. Diane's Thanksgiving meal was exactly as if I'd prepared it myself. Her bread dressing was my mother's and I honestly couldn't tell the difference! The turkey was so juicy and tasty! We were pleasantly surprised to find we were fortunate enough to get in! They were full up and are every year! So, if you ever find yourself in Sarasota over the holiday and desire a true, traditional Thanksgiving meal...this is definitely the place to go. It isn't a large restaurant and there isn't a whole lot of ambiance...but you can't go wrong with any dish on their menu, any day of the week!
