Best Pizza In Sarasota. We visit Sarasota once a year and one of our favorite stops is Il Panificio for their supurb pizza. Great crust and flavor!! We have eaten great pizza in NY and in New Haven CT and can honestly say that Panificio's rates as one of the best!! [26 Apr 2005 11:53:01]

Perfection Truly the best pizza we have had. The thin crust is baked to perfection, and the sauce is like no other. If your in Sarasota, do not miss this place!! [16 Dec 2006 19:08:46]

very dissapointed in sarasota after reading in the creative loafing paper a few months ago, that Panificio beat out many other pizzas,i had to try it.not only was the crust burned, but the cheese and toppings were overcooked. when i called to complain,i was told sorry, we'll replace it. no problem, until i went to try another.the owner suddenly didn't seem to find my credit slip.he also didn't want to hear about it.i work hard for my money, not to pay top dollar for a below, third rate pizza. i am still a new yorker at heart and i know excellent pizza, that wasn't it.i work with people that look for caterers and good restraunts in Sarasota. when asked about Panificio i now tell my experience, and I do not suggest that anyone goes there. am in college and tell others about the burned, overcooked pizza. At my university the chefs in training as well as the chefs teaching them all know not to serve food that way.when I told them they just shook their heads.the Panificio owners sure can't be new yorkers, we take care of our customers. I've been here 15 yrs. I will share my firs and last visit there, for a long time. that pizza was a crime, and so was how the owner chose to handle an unsatisfied customer. [11 Jun 2007 18:15:30]

I love this place! The food is great and so are the owners. I've been to Sarasota twice and the first time I had their pizza, I was hooked. It's better than most NY places, and I know cause I'm in NY. I have made frequent visits both times in Fla. Nick makes his own canolli cream. You must have one, they are really the best ever. I can't wait for my next visit. [13 Nov 2007 13:09:19]
