Mi Pueblo is an answer to my prayers. Not since Casa Lupita left town 12 years ago has Sarasota seen a Mexican restaurant this wonderful.
From the moment you walk in you're surrounded by the sights and sounds of Mexico. From the adobe-tiled floors and handpainted tiles on the tables to the Mexican melodies played by a skillful guitarist. These treats for your senses continue as you inhale the aromas of tomatillos, jalepenos, onion, cilantro and all of the spices blending together to create a perfume you'll wish you could bottle.
Your journey into this sensual wonderland continues as your mouth explodes in a fiesta of flavor. The question isn't "What's good?" as much as it is, "How can I possibly eat one of everything on the menu?"
This past week I had lunch there. I began with the homemade Tortilla Soup which put me itho such a delightful trance I would have happily drown in it had my entree not arrived. Just as I was disappointed to see the soup go, I welcomed my Chicken Enchilada in sour cream sauce and Chicken Taco served along with Beans and Rice. Each savory bite brought the mixed emotions of being blissfully delirious to be eating it but at the same time fearful that my plate would soon be empty! But those fears were well quieted by the arrival of a delectable dish of Flan. The petit cloud of caramelized custard was the best I'd ever had. The perfect ending to a fabulous meal.
Mi Pueblo is located in a strip mall at the SE corner of McIntosh and Bee Ridge (They also recently opened a 2nd location at the Brick Yard Plaza in Venice). They accept MC, Visa and Cash. At dinner time be prepared for a bit of a wait outside. They are usually busy but do offer a few comfortable chairs outside the front door. It is well worth the wait. [26 Sep 2001 12:36:39]

Mi Pueblos Mi Pueblo is the best Mexican, or any other type of restaurant in the free world. My boyfriend and I used to go there at least twice a week. We now since have moved to Pennsylvania, and unfortunately can not frequent the restaurant anymore. We go through serious withdrawals from the lack of Crispy Chicken Tacos and Enchilada Suizas. The Homemade Tortilla chips are absolutely to die for. The accompanying salsa is totally out of this world. It is like nothing you've ever tasted before. We miss it there so much.
The ambience could not be matched. The service and hospitality is like no other restaurant we have ever been to. The whole Mi Pueblo experience is a treat. There would usually be a short to long wait, but it is well worth it. The owners, Hugo and Boni (spelling?), were always a delight and treat all of their guests wonderfully. You feel as though you are an invited guest into their own home. There is also a very talented and kind guitarist who plays Mexican songs to you at your table.
Mi Pueblo is worth every penny that you spend there. With extremly reasonable prices for such wonderful food, you will want to go again and again. I wish there was a way for us to have this food delivered to us here in Pennsylvania. We miss you Mi Pueblo! (The Jeep Lady and her boyfriend) [09 Dec 2001 16:14:03]

I Love This Restaurant!!!! They opened a beautiful facility on University Blvd and Tuttle this last year. What a great experience! Excellent food, great service and a strolling Mariachi band make an outstanding dining event.
Having been raised in the US Southwest, I have been hard pressed to find quality Mexican food here in Sarasota. The search is over! Mi Pueblo is hands down the BEST Mexican restaurant I have ever patronized. It is a personal favorite of both my wife and I. [10 Jan 2006 16:04:54]
