Poor Service My party was given a 15 minute waiting time on Thursday, Oct 28 2004. After waiting 45 min., I inquired about our status, and was told it would be 45 minutes before we could be seated. While Carol was telling me the bad news I glanced at her waiting list and found that another party that came in after us had been seated. I complained and was told it would be 45 minutes.
I suggested that we were regular customers and that we were very disappointed and would probably not be back. Carol didn't seem to be at all concerned.

Fine Dining in a Pair of Shorts! I ordered the Turkey Sandwich with cranberry/mayonnaise and bacon. I had a slice of Key Lime Pie with whipped cream for desert. The taste of the sandwich was completely unique in my experience. I enjoyed the taste completely. The Key Lime pie had a texture that reminded me of cheese cake. It was flavorful, especially with the whipped cream! I savored each bit. The food was presented in an appealing manner, the sandwich arriving hot. There were many menu items that I would like to try in the future. I found the portion of food to be just right for me, not too much or too little. The El Santiago Club was clean and uniquely decorated. I have never experienced a restaurant anywhere with such decor. There were unusual and colorful decorations everywhere. Decorations which included among others, an unside-down Christmas Tree, hung from the ceiling and flags from many different countries. Seating included booths and tables both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor tables overlooked a golf course and a lake. I seemed to be the youngest patron at 54 yrs. old. The menu prices were much lower than I would expect considering the excellent taste and presentation of the food. I have already recommended the restaurant to others. I am also considering having my sister Janet's next birthday party there. There were couples and groups dining.
I am working on the web site for the El Santiago Club, so I do have a special interest. But, I am proud to be working with such a fine dining establishment. The owners Bill & Mel Waister are amiable people who put their customers first.
For a party of eight or more you would need to make reservations. [22 May 2006 19:47:05]

Terrible food, bad service and filthy Stay far away - the Villages has many good clean restaurants with good service. Don't waste your money or time on El Santiago Club. To quote Bette Davis, "What a dump!" [16 Jun 2007 19:29:04]
