The first thing that grabs you upon entering Old Germany is the vintage, slightly humorous German decor. Clotheslines with laundry on them festoon the dining room, brassieres dangle from the ceiling, murals of country landscapes cover the walls and a natural picket fence separates the bar from the dining area. German folk music floats through the air, and waitresses with pigtails and lederhosen bound up to the table to take your order. The authentic German menu is comprised of entrees such as lunch and dinner sandwiches, hamburger, wings, chicken, crepes, German sausages, steaks, seafood and German specialties like Wiener Schnitzel, Rouladen, Sauerbraten, goulash, Spaetzle (egg and flour noodles), bratwurst, potato pancakes and onion pie.

For dessert, the apple strudel and Black Forest cake win big points with customers. The wine list does proffer some fine German wines, and the full bar is stocked with an array of tasty German beers. It's Oktoberfest all year round at Orlando's Old Germany.

Great Beer and Delicious Food
There were so many options of beer to choose from and all of them are great to drink. I personally like the Hoegarten which is a light white ale. On the other hand the Spaten Optimater is another favorite which is dark and rich.    [30 Apr 2006 11:04:28]
