Tasty Newcomer Sushi Nami just opened in 2002, one of several new Asian-themed restaurants to open recently on Windward Parkway. It shares the same building as Xian Chinese restaurant.
The dining area and tables are fairly plain but comfortable. There was nothing special about the decor, but nothing irritating, either.
Prices for a la carte sushi were mostly $3.95 to $5.95, which include 6-piece rolls and 2-piece selections of tuna, salmon, clam, and the like. Combination specials range $6 to $10 and include soup or salad.
When my order arrived, I was struck by the large size of the salmon pieces - the largest of any sushi restaurant I've been to. The flavor and texture was excellent. The tuna in the tuna rolls was a bit strong for me, but I often find that the case, so it is probably just me.
The food was served on wooden slabs, as is often the case. There was wasabi and ginger, but no other garnish or attempt at visual appeal.
My lunch bill came to $30, but I ordered a la carte and I can put away a lot of sushi. [14 Aug 2002 17:27:23]

Getting better everyday I enjoy this restaurant more and more after each visit. Food quality has always been good, but now, the variety is also improving. Try the fried whole baby crabs, or the newly added Shabu-Shabu. Also, Sashimi presentation is becoming more elaborate. [06 Jan 2004 11:25:09]

Good, but lacking the taste I've come to expect from good sushi after eight years of eating it at least once a month at different places throughout Atlanta.
The menu is pricey, it's easy to rack up a $20-$30 bill for one person.
The atmosphere is pleasant, decorated in a minimalist fashion.
All in all not a bad place, but it's missing the taste and freshness to justify the cost. [19 Apr 2004 12:22:33]

By far the best sushi in Atlanta ! The fish is flown in daily from various parts of the world and is always fresh. I eat lunch there at least once a week and have always received great food and excellent service! You should try it! [11 Nov 2004 17:38:35]

Great sushi!!! My wife and I absolutely love this place. We go about once per month. I'm not an aficianado (sp?) of sushi, but I can tell that the food is fresh, and the size of the pieces is slightly larger than other sushi restaurants I've visited. Decent atmosphere, and the service is fantastic. In fact, I came across this site when I was looking for their menu since I want to get takeout for my wife's birthday today. Couldn't resist putting in a good word for one of my favorite eating establishments. Enjoy! [15 Dec 2005 14:16:40]
