It's Fabulous! I love the food. The atmosphere is great. Quiet and calming atmosphere. Coffee is great. Home fries are even better. LOVE the breakfast. [09 Sep 2003 19:01:25]

North Shore Treasure!!!!!!!! Genuine Haleiwa hospitality. Waitresses bring Ohana spirit to the scene & they always know where the surf's up. I first came here on R&R from the war in Vietnam (from Hell to Heaven in one cool transition!) and have been returning faithfully for 40 years. Pancakes and homefries at 6AM with pineapple hot sauce are amazing way to start a North Shore day. Best coffee in Haleiwa and the girls bring you unlimited refills. This is a one-of-a-kind place: Funky, cool, genuine and warm. Great for lunch and dinner too, but my favorite time at the cafe is in the early morning. [04 Sep 2004 12:12:52]

Absolute Fab! I lived in Miliani and would frequently go there for breakfast, a papaya with my breakfast, the fries, can't eat without the hot sauce. It's a must for anyone who goes there. Best feeling is 6AM in your suit, fueling up for a day in the ocean. Looks like a dive at first, but after you've eaten there you view it as fine dining! [18 Nov 2004 11:58:39]

Best Haleiwa Breakfast Homefries are a must. I prefer my bacon crispier. The veggie burrito is WONDERFUL. EVERYthing on the menu is great. Cafe Haleiwa has without doubt THE BEST COFFEE on the island. You cannot find a better place to breakfast for the price, the service and the taste of the island! Walking in with sandy toes is almost dress code.
ALL of the waitresses are absolutely the BEST -- quick, smiling, hospitable, welcoming, energetic, upbeat and very service/customer oriented. Flawless service EXCEPT for one gothic waitress. The parking lot and driveway needs to have the huge craters filled. [11 Jun 2006 15:35:42]

Home Town Girl I grew up on the North Shore (Kahuku to be exact!), and have always loved Cafe Haleiwa. In fact years ago when they almost sold the place (thank goodness they didn't) my parents planned to buy it, so it has always been close to me. Everytime I go back home from college I make a point of having breakfast there. Their pancakes are by far the best, and the outdoor bathrooms with all the painted murals on the walls are nothing short of awesome. As someone who calls the North Shore home I would have to say that Cafe Haleiwa (and Kua Aina) is what makes the North Shore so special, and always will. [07 Jul 2006 08:46:05]

breakfast in a barrel ..I really love the breakfast in a barrel and the lions coffee! And I miss it every morning here in Germany.. ;-) The waitresses are always smiling, very kindly and quick. Everything on the menu is always fresh, fine and the way I like it. I'm looking forward to come back and have another breakfast on a barrel. [02 Aug 2006 14:09:45]
