ABUNDANT FISH choices ON KAUAI, LOCAL FLAIR desserts you expect of an exotic isle The macadamia nut butter they offer with fresh fish meals it the BEST choice over the other sauces. My WALU melted in my mouth. Their garnishings and salads are organic and fresh and flavorful. The best thing about this place is that nearly ALL their desserts exploit local flair and flavor - be it Pineapple Upside down cake, Coconut Sorbet, or local carrot cake. TRULY the festive island feel. Service is kinda poor, mediocre, because they don't seem overly concerned about it. Our first evening waiter, GREG from Texas (OWNERS TAKE HEED) was no short of great - advised the BEST dishes, courteous, fast. But man, waiting to get seated is exhausting. The older gentleman behind the host station made us wait an hour for a table for two on deck that SAT EMPTY for the entire hour (later commenting a reservation bailed but HOW LONG DO THEY LET A RESERVATION BE BEHIND?) RESERVATIONS ARE A MUST. Otherwise, if you can "deal" the food is excellent. Always three or more fresh fish choices compared to other spots. Also GET THE SEAFOOD ROCKETS appetizer if you like shrimp/fish combos wrapped and then served in a phenomenal spicy yet sweet yet fresh sauce. TO DIE FOR! [10 Aug 2006 23:07:12]
