Description

Café Pesto offers regional cuisine, with an Italian theme, based on locally available fresh ingredients and flavors. Their food is offered in a "South Beach" style setting that is a mixture of Art Deco and local Hawaiian art and photographs. The tile floors, ceiling fans, and period lighting fixtures add to the atmosphere. The restaurant is on Hilo's front street, Kamehameha Avenue, in the old downtown, and has a splendid view of the harbor.

On Sundays, the restaurant offers jazz "Music by the Bay" at 2:30pm.

Wonderful!
Love this place. The food is wonderful and always fresh. We arrived as a large party with out a reservation and they were very accomidating to our needs. Not only was the food great but they had some fabulous margaritas and beer available. Try the lilikoi cheesecake or creme brulee for dessert.    [13 Jan 2004 17:25:09]

Outstanding Food with a Relaxing View
Since we discovered Café Pesto late one evening several years ago, we have enjoyed returning to it when back in Hilo. The food and atmosphere are outstanding. When they are full, the service sometimes becomes a bit confused, but the recoveries are fast, and the staff are always pleasant. Come prepared to eat well, but, if possible save space for the desserts, which are also exceptional.    [13 Sep 2004 03:31:29]
