Better places to eat in Lahaina Pure tourist-high price and low value. Food not well prepared and served cold. Service only fair. [19 Feb 2006 12:30:10]

Great food for the price Wow. Of all the places in Lahaina we ate at, which is several, we liked this one best.
The fish was served hot and was well-prepared. I had grilled Opah. My pal's had blackened opah and blackened Monchong. All three were great.
Service was all right. Could've been better. But to say this is a poor value is absoluitely nuts. Not sure where else one can get a filet of Opah that big for that price (besides raw at the fish market).
The katsu ahi poke sounds strange, or even contradictory, but once you try it, it makes perfect sense. Big portions of the pupus, too.
Last, if you get there at the right time, you can get an oceanside table and feed the fish the bread you don't eat. There's a couple big puffers in there. If feeding fish from your table isn't 4-star ambience, I'm not sure what is.
Anyway, the place is anything but a ripoff and calling it such couldn't be further off base. [08 Jan 2007 22:38:35]
