Really wonderful As the only half-way affordable restaurant on the island, this place has a big responsibility. (Below it is a cafe, and above it is the Lodge at Koele, too rich for most pockets.) But they do a great job. The food is outstanding: yummy, creative, served perfectly hot. Lots of Cajun influence, but nothing was too spicy. The menu has a nice assortment of adventurous items as well as a couple for the chicken-only crowd and for vegetarians as well. If this restaurant were here in Honolulu, I'd take friends there regularly. With drinks, appetizers, and tip, it cost us about $40 per person. Clam chowder, squash ravioli, eggplant and pasta, and ribs were especially yummy. The cassoulet was tasty, though a bit dry. But overall, this place is GREAT [23 Jan 2002 11:10:21]
