Our experience at this Red Lobster location was an unexpected delight. Though we tend not to be fans of chain restaurants, we were exceedingly impressed with the quality and presentation of our meals as well as the superior service we received. The Lobster Fondue was a stellar appetizer served in an edible sourdough bread bowl. Entrees ranged from simple Grilled Chicken with Wild Rice to Fish and Chips to Shrimp Alfredo Linguine. Our server was ammenable in every way and happily made the substitutions we requested. Though the wine list is not extensive in most chain restaurants, Red Lobster features some nice standbys which have clearly been chosen to compliment their menu.    [09 Aug 2005 15:45:41]

Go to Des Moines not Ames!
Very bad service. Food was cold. Ignored our complaints. Rushed us to eat. Will never go back to the Ames Red Lobster.    [03 Mar 2006 12:26:33]
