terrible service
We (4 people) went to Applebees because it was supposed to be good! This was Thursday evening December 27, arrived about 5:45 p.m. and left about 7 p.m. It was a busy time but there were vacant tables. We were seated immediately, however after waiting at the table about 10 min., our server came over, we ordered drinks and appetizers. About 10 minutes later we got hot plates ("fresh out of the dishwasher" as our server commented) but no appetizers, about 15 minutes later our server showed up to apologize for not getting our appetizers. Then another 10 minutes later our cold food showed up... still no appetizers, then the manager came over to apologize (our appetizers were given to another table). After the manager left, our server came back to say "don't blame me, it wasn't my fault". The appetizers never were served. The food was cold, we send it back to be re-heated and after waiting about another 15 minutes, left the restaurant: no food, nobody came back to even check after we sent the food back to be re-heated. Our server totally neglected us while walking back and forth serving other people AND always looking the other direction. Out of total fustration, we left; can you believe...our server even said "good-by"! I cannot believe a nationwide chain like yours would treat patrons like this. All 4 of us certainly will not recommend Applebees to anyone! Especially that particular establishment. The manager and our server were totally at fault and lacked total customer service. Vindictive Manager
Attended a promotion party with a group of co-workers. Manager acted like a security card staring our party down and circling the bar. Our bar tab is normally between $200.00 to $300.00 not including food. Manager told some of the indivduals in the party that you could not stand at the bar because it was a safety hazard. I've been to plenty of bars in my time and that was a first for me. One individual ribs were burnt and he requested another order and another individual order wings and when he bit into a wing blood sqirted out. He called one of the managers over to look at the chicken. I went to the door to get the compliant line number and noticed the Health rating 90% so the food was not surprising. The assitant manager took offense when he found out I was filing a compliant and contacted our employer to file a compliant about our group being rowdy. That was a first for me also. The manager at no time told us to leave or be quiet or lower our voices. He had a bad attitude with a large chip on his shoulder.    [04 Aug 2002 12:56:12]

I went to this resturaunt with two friends after work. None of us had been there before, and wanted a couple drinks, and food. How awful! I have never been treated so so bad in a place prior to this. It wasn't busy at the time we went, so we were seated quickly. When we ordered our drinks, the server asked for our ID's... When I gave her mine, she looked at me and said that she knew me, and this was not my ID! I had never seen this girl in my life! So, after a brief Q & A with her, she left. She returned with only two drinks, none for me. She then went to the manager and stated that I was trying to use a fake ID to buy alcoholic drinks! This arguement with her, the manager and I went on for at least 20 minutes before my friends and I left. How humiliating!    [27 Jun 2003 01:06:09]
