Cool, funky decor...Great food!
We are back in Des Moines for the summer after living in the New York City area. Cafe Su would be a major hit in New York with its innovative decor and delicious food! All the details have been considered: fresh flowers on the tables, great service, good wine list, great food and even chocolate dipped fortune cookies. Even the bathrooms are unusual! not your typical Chinese restaurant
Not the decor that you would expect from a Chinese restaurant. The music is not typical either. A casual but a bit upscale and definitely funky. Superb food and service. Good wine and beer selection. Live acoustic music on weekends. I highly recommend the potstickers and you will not regret the Thai beef. Deserts are very good with a nice array of cakes. My favorite Chinese restaurant anywhere. $5 hidden charge for rice = what a rip off?
This place hides a $5 on every table-- not on the menu-- just for RICE. What an extraordinarily bad business practice to gouge every customer unexpectedly!    [29 May 2006 16:24:18]

Great restaurant!
Fresh ingredients and great food! The cashew chicken we got was much lighter than other places, and very tasty! I highly recommend this restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Loved the chocolate covered fortune cookies!    [07 Oct 2007 20:51:52]
