Spaghetti and scones, no salad
My dinner companion and I pulled into the parking lot of the Oasis late at night, for a quick bite to eat on the road. Seated at the counter, we were able to observe two hard working cooks in the kitchen, and plate after plate of tasteful food coming by. Our order consisted of spaghetti with meatballs (excellent pasta with tender meatballs and a sweet tomato sauce) and chicken fried steak with vegetables (unfortunately, soggy). Dinner was served with excellent scones: round, crispy and with a generous dab of butter. The dinner portions were large and not until we were 200 miles further down the road, we realized the waitress had not given us our pre-dinner salads. Patting our full tummies, we were a little bummed about having paid for them, but happy all the same. Less salad, more scones, we say!    [23 Apr 2006 00:05:46]
