A memorable experience. I took my parents there in early december. The diner had no heat. Everyone was curled up at tables in their coats. The food was outrageously expensive. 8 dollars for a burger and 4 more if you wanted fries instead of chips. It seemed a race to try to finish the rapidly congealing grease burger before it turned into a lump of cold fat. Fries were about the same. My mother had the soup which was basically equal parts salty chicken broth and salt. The serving staff was courteous, and proffesional, even offering pie or icecream to the shivering patrons. But the food and environment leads you to think of the entire situation as a loss. Dad's diner has become the family joke. If I invite my parents to dinner they'll say "You're not planning to take us to dad's again are you?" and we'll all laugh. [09 Feb 2008 20:53:12]
