Great Italian Cuisine Good Italian food is hard to come by in this town, but Buddy's has it. Atmosphere was calming and comforting. If you enjoy an imported beer with your pasta this is the place to be. Do not forget to have a Buddy's salad!!! [09 Aug 2002 19:00:34]

The best italian in Idaho Looking for small town comfort food with a twist? Buddy's is the place to be! Everything from salad to carmelo's for dessert, and everything is good. My parents live 50 miles away, and request a jar of salad dressing every time I go see them. BUDDY'S BREATH IS THE BEST!! [13 May 2004 15:01:20]

Idaho is in deep trouble if Buddy's is the best... Italian. My wife and I went there. It was crowded, unclean, the service was noticeably lacking...and unfriendly when it finally showed up...and they don't seem to have a clue as to what an antipasto is. Hey folks! It's more than a piece of cheese slapped on a piece of salami. We were expecting a real antipasto with real salad, meats, cheeses, peppers, and etc....but what we got was exactly what I described above... a few pieces of cheese slapped on salami with none of the other parts of the antipasto...and it was way overpriced for such a lousy little snack.
We would rather eat broken glass and die than ever set foot in Buddy's again. If your choice is Buddy's or a ten year old can of Chef Boyardee...choose the Chef!! [22 Apr 2005 10:44:07]

If this is Italian, I must be Sophia Loren My husband and I have had the misfortune of dining at Buddy's twice this summer with two different sets of friends.
First, the Buddy's salad is a disgusting pile of slimey iceberg lettuce. It is so coated in oil, that you can't taste the lettuce, which I guess is what qualifies as good salad in eastern Idaho.
The antipasto was anti-climatic to say the least. We ordered a double order and if that was double, I would hate to see a single. We got 5 pieces of pepperoni, some cheese, and two peppers. No olives, no presentation, just slapped on a saucer, here you go.
Dinner was even less exciting. The first trip we had sandwiches-dry and tasteless. The second trip was the ravioli (which takes 25 minutes to make). And it did, but I can't imagine why they don't use pre-made, it can't possibly be any blander.
The marinara sauce is plain, bland and really resembles straight tomato sauce from a can.
The only thing that had any flavor was the meatball they added as garnish and the cheese bread.
And the waitperson was slow and borderline rude. We had the misfortune of having her both times.
The restaurant itself is small, cramped and tiled. Normal dinner conversation takes on ear-splitting decibels. It was a relief to finish our meal and leave, pledging "NEVER again!!" [04 Aug 2005 02:28:12]
Food: Service: Ambiance: Overall: Recommended Dishes: Meatballs and cheese bread-better yet, go somewhere else.

THE SPOT TO BE!!! I love Buddy's!!! Every time my family comes into town we go there, and often, friends who stay at local hotels tell me they want to try Buddy's because various desk clerks suggest it. The portions are more than could be desired, the pricing is fair, and the food is AWESOME! The salad is drenched in yummy garlic Italian dressing, and makes an awesome lunch coupled with garlic bread with cheese on top. Try a dinner for a first experience, that way, you get a variety of Buddy's best. (Also, you can never go wrong with a Chicks Meatball or Italian sausage sandwich) I have never had a bad experience with service, because I understand Buddy's gets VERY, VERY busy, which is part of the enjoyable experience (a waitress did spill water on me once, but I forgave her). Ask the locals, and they'll tell you-YOU HAVE TO TRY BUDDY'S!!! [23 Sep 2005 13:54:51]

Italian for people who don't know italian I don't understand the raves about this place, except that you can't find a single place for decent Italian anywhere in eastern Idaho.
The food is overcooked, overpriced, the salad dressing that they claim is the best is overpowering. I'll never eat there again. I'll save my Italian experiences for NY, Chicago, Philly, Boston and Rhode Island [12 Dec 2006 13:34:22]
