Classic Barbeque
Clearly one of the best purveyors of barbequed ribs, in the classic style (i.e. served with a slice of white bread). Also a range of other things, like rib tips and poultry.

It's virtually all carry-out and delivery - don't go there expecting ambiance. Instead, get an order and take it to the beach (about a mile east) for a truly unforgettable evening.

Hecky is also known for his community involvement and dedication to helping the youth of the community. Doesn't affect the food, but some people might want to take this into account.    [22 Feb 2000 21:26:29]

Good BBQ
Hecky's is good BBQ for the Northside of Chicago. Not as good as Lem's or Barbara Ann's but again for the Northside, quite tasty and one of the best.

Agree with other poster to take your meal to the beach a mile east and eat it there.    [26 May 2003 22:53:45]
