Flatlander's = Flat Beer and Flat tasting food
I would definitely not recommend this restaurant. All of the side dishes are blah, for example the "pesto orzo". The broccoli cheese soup was extremely salty and neon green, as if Kermit the Frog was put in the blender. None of the dishes are original, they are all compilations of other sauces and spices on the market. For example, the BBQ sauce from the ribs was, according to the server, Famous Dave's BBQ Sauce. The beer was nothing like some of the other breweries in Chicago. It was quite flat. The glasses were spotted, and the empty b&b plates and silverware on the table was spotty and dirty. The managers were not friendly, in fact, they talked down to the service staff. Our food actually didn't take very long, but how long does it actually take to "nuke" a meal? When I went to the bathroom, one of the stalls was locked, 2 of the toilets were clogged up, and my toilet sprayed water all over my pants. The floor was wet with paper towels strewn over it. It has a cute patio, but without the meal and beverages to go with it, I won't be going back there again.    [27 Apr 2004 13:20:39]

Flatlanders is My Favorite!!!
Flatlanders is one of my favorite restaurants! Their bruschetta is amazing---and their walleye is my husband's favorite! We have never had a bad meal there! HOWEVER--I cannot rate the service the best nor can I rate the hostesses as the kindest. The atmosphere is great with the fireplace and a harpist at Valentine's Day!    [14 Feb 2006 16:39:05]
