Fantastic This new coffee house, restaurant and banquet hall is a real find. It has the best food I have tried lately. I will definitely be back when I am in town. [28 Dec 2005 11:41:28]

Mother's Day Brunch I was disappointed in Elan's Mother's Day Brunch. When we first arrived (12:30pm), the table was not setup for a place setting. The restaurant was not busy, just no place settings. The candle was not lit on the table so I had asked several times to have it lit. We weren't sure at first who our server would be. My omelette was watery and the food was not hot or even lukewarm probably due to the fact that there was no warmer underneath each food tray. My husband had sliced turkey, probably from a deli section of a grocery store, and mashed potatoes that were just under warm. The Eggs Benedict was watery and the muffin was soggy. The restaurant ran out of fruit; however I did mention it to the owner and more fruit arrived minus the strawberries. I love strawberries and I took the last one but no fresh strawberries later. I had to keep asking for service such as more coffee. The waitresses didn't bring my mother-in-law her champagne/Mimosa until she asked where it was. They didn't take our plates until I asked them to pick them up. Our desserts were sliced cake and we had to walk to the back section of the restaurant to get them. It's a good thing I like Pepperidge Farm because it did taste like they were store bought.
The owner did come by and introduced herself and wishes us a Happy Mother's Day. I do enjoy the restaurant's design with high ceilings and tall windows.
All in all, I do not think it was worth $25.00/person. I hope they do a better job next time. [17 May 2006 16:51:01]
