Expected more
For some reason, I expected Benihana to be an upscale restaurant. Only the price is upscale. Almost empty restaurant and we still had to wait long time for everything. The sushi was good at best. Very chewy, which was a major disappointment. From now on, I prefer real Japanese restaurants for sushi.    [18 Dec 2006 18:23:17]

Tasty, but pricey!
I am a vegetarian, and Benihana had a secret vegetarian entree that was not listed on the menu. It was better than the vegetarian dish at Tsukasa, but the show was not as good. I suspect our chef was 1)Latino, which was a little weird, since his nametag said Yoshi, and 2)new, since he looked like he was trying very hard, and he dropped things several times when trying to be showy.
My dining companions greatly enjoyed their steak, shrimp, and chicken. The fried rice also looked really good, although it had chicken in it, so I could not try it. Soup also came with the meal, also meat broth; my friends slurped it up!
The non-alcoholic smoothie drinks were excellent, if pricey -- 4.50 for a old-fashioned glass. I had the mango pina colada smoothie. Mmmmm.
Service was excellent, and the restaurant was busy and clean. The clean pretty ladies restroom had a baby changing table in one stall, which was very helpful.    [11 Mar 2007 23:16:36]
