Description
Simple restaurant that has some traces of its former Thai decor, but offers white table coverings, live flower centerpeices, and matching silverware.
There is a value buffet for lunch Tuesday-Friday and slightly upscale buffet for lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
The owners come around and talk to the diners, trying to make every diner's experience exceptional. If there is something somebody would like differently, they fix it on the spot.

Quite Possibly the Worst Indian Restaurant in the World I usually have good things to say about restaurants, but this one is horrendous. I am from India, and I know good Indian food. You won't find it at this excuse of an Indian restaurant - atrocious food - the worst chicken tikka masala, terrible butter chicken - this is not good Indian food people - don't let the red food coloring fool you..I would rather eat at Denny's Oh, the Naans are ok, but that's about it.. dee-lish-ous i moved to Springfield for work and missed the variety of dining out options and good food i used to enjoy until i found Gateway to India. i'm usually not a big fan of Indian cuisine but this restaurant has knocked my socks off over and again with its wide variety of tasty dishes served up in individual pots for sharing, kept warm by tea candles. they also have a tandoori oven to prepare meats and fish in a traditional indian-type clay oven method. i've become a regular dinner face there and have recommended it to many local friends. i've only ever had to wait for a seat on Thursday or Friday evenings. bargain hunters might appreciate Gateway's buffet at lunch time where you might try a little bit of anything from a dozen or so of their most popular main dishes and desserts. the owner or his lovely wife are often table-side interested in hearing how you like your food or simply to say hello.
