Best Sushi in Bloomington Domo is a fabulous restaurant with an endearing ambiance, kind and courteous staff, wonderful service and excellent food. I have been eating at Domo for well over two years now and I cannot say that I have ever been disappointed. [14 Nov 2001 18:53:09]

My favourite japanese restaurant Domo was the first place I ever tried sushi. I loved it there and have tried many places in Bloomington, Chicago, and even in New York City, but I still think that I like Domo best. The service is always great, even when they are busy. The food is always beautiful as well as delicious. The restaurant itself is nice and cozy. I recommend any of the teriyaki dishes as well as their maki mono specials. I personally have an obsession with their sweet egg sushi. The appetizers are all amazing. [07 May 2003 13:00:55]

terrific japanese restaurant My father-in-law worked for Ford and spent a LOT of time in Japan. Still, every time he visits (he lives in Detroit, which has great sushi!) we MUST, MUST go to Domo! the service is really good--very friendly and helpful. Very fresh fish, especially the salmon--it always tastes so great!--definitely the best sushi/japanese cuisine in town! We love it, and in fact we just went there this evening. The staff there know us. [03 Sep 2004 23:08:48]

Worst sushi ever When I first moved to Bloomington, I decided to give this place a try. The edamame served was undercooked and when we asked them for a new serving, they simply microwaved the portion they served us! It came out piping hot, wrinkled and dry as bones. All of the sushi we ordered contained avocado. The sushi chef must not have been paying attention that day, because the avocado was under ripe, it was crunchy!! The service was awful, as another couple who came in after us was served before us and seemed to get the ripe avocado. Also, the table was dirty as well as the bench we sat on. Overall, the worst sushi experience of my life. [21 Oct 2006 18:30:12]

Best sushi in Bloomington I've been a regular at Domo since I moved to Bloomington four years ago. I've tried every other sushi restaurant in town, and none of them have ever been even close to reaching the freshness, quality, and attention to detail of Domo's sushi. I always get the Sake Don (salmon bowl). If you love salmon nigiri or sashimi, try this one! The chef always adds a lovely layer of tobiko and gomasio between the rice and the fish - it's just heaven in a bowl. I have to go to Domo every week or so to get my Sake Don on! All of their sushi is good though, and they're unique among Japanese restaurants in Bloomington for being able to do a spider roll that isn't greasy! Best in town. Comparable to coastal sushi. Oh - and the wait staff are absolute ANGELS. They're just the sweetest ladies, and I've never had a bad experience there. [03 Jul 2007 21:42:09]

Great Place for Sushi and everything else While spending time in the Marine Corps I had the pleasure of eating at several restaurants in Japan and several Japanese restaurants in the states. Domo seems to focus on quality of food and customer service rather than the show at the hibachi. I love the option of sitting at the booth or at the grille because I go there for the food not for the show and you cannot ask for better service. I can honestly say that this is the second best Japanese restaurant I have been to, number one is in Okinawa. [12 May 2008 18:06:01]
