The Trojan Horse is a Greek restaurant in Bloomington located on the corner of Kirkwood and College. The atmosphere of the restaurant seems calm at first, but after your food comes the service seems rushed. The quality of the food is sub-standard. I'll recommend the entrees to any Hindu looking for a night out of fasting. However, their drinks are excellent. Well blended and not so strong you're going to get sick. The wine list isn't too extensive, but the house sangria is worth every penny. Although prices of different items vary, the liquor prices are reasonable. In my opinion, I do recommend at least trying this restaurant at least once. Perhaps you'll have a taste for it, but as for me? I'm sticking to microwave gyros from now on.    [08 May 2003 17:04:01]

Just try the hummus and pita. It's the best hummus ever. Those people can do something amazing with a garbonzo bean!    [20 May 2006 17:23:44]

Great Food
Their burgers are incredible; their chicken sandwiches are the best I've had anywhere. Apps are great (hummus or the one with the cheese name?) - you can tell when a restaurant makes their own food and this is one of those places.

Hand cut vegetables, homemade soups, dressings, sandwiches.

Try the baklava dessert too. Delicious stuff.    [07 Oct 2006 23:32:33]

Awesome Restaurant
You'd prefer microwave gyros? Have you ever had them before? If you prefer them nuked rather than homemade (ground beef and lamb plus lots of spices...all done in house), then you deserve to eat bland food. The Horse has the best falafel sandwich ever. They also serve saganaki (flaming cheese) table side. And they make all their food from scratch...and I mean everything.    [15 Nov 2006 19:54:43]

Trojan Horse - 5 Stars
Rather have microwave gyros? That's disgusting. There is nothing better than a Trojan Horse gyro. The Greek Sampler app is amazing! The saganaki is a show in itself. Opah! The falafel, chicken Giannoulas, and veggie burgers are out of this world. The steak kabob are also great. Talk about homemade...this place is amazing! I go twice a week when I can. I love the atmosphere and the drink specials!    [22 Aug 2007 10:29:22]

Great Food - Avoid Lunch/Dinner Rushes
Very solid food across the menu. Even the fish tacos are excellent and comparable to some I've had in San Diego. Join the frequent customer program if you dine there often. Service is great if you dine during off peak hours. Lunch service was awful three or four times in a row, so we quit going during busy times.    [25 Mar 2008 23:17:13]
