Great Food This place has good food, some of the best in Liberal. The place is clean, quiet. The staff are very helpful and the prices are right. I would recommend it to everyone. [28 Sep 2005 14:06:50]

Best place in town The Salty Dog has the largest menu in town. They offer steaks that come in the highest grade of beef straight out of National Beef. You can expect the cook to cut your steak to order, any size you want. They also offer excellent ribs and seafood. With a full bar and great food, this place is one of the best in the Southwest Kansas and Oklahoma Panhandle.
The prices are great and the service is prompt. They can cater to large groups, be it a wedding or a business meeting. This is a must try!!!! [20 Nov 2005 13:43:46]

Been there... Still has inconsistent hours of operation. Great restaurant, if you manage to order the right thing. The ribeyes are to-die-for and the seafood is unequaled in Kansas. However, lunches are usually hit-or-miss affairs if J.R. is not in attendance. Their Po' boys are ridiculously good, as are the shrimp etouffee; their crab cakes are unbelievable. The Phillys are great, but I recommend a chicken Philly. They use the chicken fajita meat and do wonderful things with it.
Overall, a great place, as long as you know what to order. I will always suggest sampling a "birthday crown." This is the strongest, best drink they make. ENJOY!!! [22 Dec 2006 23:03:06]
