Who's in charge in the kitchen? I recently visited the Gold Fork in Manhattan for the first time in a couple of years. I recalled that they traditionally had good food and even better service. I was in for a rude awakening at my latest visit. Not only did they not have the sauce for the particular dish I ordered, they burned the substitute dish. It was terrible. They were also out of a different sauce I requested. The waitress handled my dismay at first, but then left us to wait for the check for 20 minutes following the awful dining experience. I would get better service at McDonald's, and I would know that the food would not be burned there. I probably will not return to this restaurant. [16 Apr 2004 13:27:26]

Not what it used to be I too remember the Gold Fork being the best place in Manhattan at one time. It's nowhere near my top ten now. Food isn't that great, and it took forever to get it eveb when they weren't busy! [17 Aug 2005 08:46:46]

Excellent food and service My husband and I go to Gold Fork for our anniversary every year and we absolutely LOVE their Steak and Shrimp! Peftectly cooked steak every time, shrimp that melts in your mouth and service! They make sure you have what you need but they don't bug you while you dine. A very happy medium.
Food is excellent! Service is great! My favorite sit-down dinner in town! [24 Sep 2005 16:57:04]
