They do it right
While in the KC area recently on business, I was looking for a late lunch before heading back to the airport. I spotted Barley's right off of 435 and decided to give it a try.

The amenities were very clean and the atmosphere in the place is very relaxing. The bartender and wait staff went above and beyond to ensure everything was to my satisfaction.

The selection is incredible, with 99 taps across the back wall, ranging from worldwide selections to local fare.

The prices, while no bargain hunters dream, are not higher than you would see at comparable restaurants anywhere in the country. They were right in the same range as what I had paid at KC Masterpiece and Jack Stack in the previous 2 days.

I had sampled the famous KC BBQ already on my visit so I opted to go for some good midwest beef. My selection this day was the 16oz Kansas City Strip with a side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

Contrary to the belief of many, steak is an easy dish to cook. This is not true and there a lot of high priced restaurants that can't do it well. Barley's is not one such place. My steak was nearly 1.5 inches thick, seasoned perfectly, and cooked EXACTLY as ordered (medium). And might I say Delicious. Absolutely one of the tastiest, juiciest, most tender steaks I have ever sunk my teeth into.
