A piece of Provence in Prairie Village
This intimate dining room is barely bigger than an Yves St. Laurent scarf, but it’s just as stylish, thanks to the bon goût of Brittany-born owner Patrick Quillec. The chef-owner of the more eclectic Hannah Bistro has turned a space overlooking the parking lot of the Prairie Village Shopping Center (romantic it’s not) into a bistro with linen-draped tables, lace curtains and, over at the tiny bar, a TV set tuned to the Paris version of CNN. The fare certainly evokes the flavors of France’s provincial countryside: hearty ptes; crusty breads; soothing soups; a succulent coq au vin in a smoky, russet-colored sauce; and a poached salmon draped in a buttery sorrel sauce.
