Great Down Home Cooking! Pros - Very large selection of "home-cooked" chicken, fish and other meats with more side dishes than any other restaurant in town. You will find something you like there. As clean as moms kitchen and you can't beat the prices.
Cons - Use the bathroom at home and if you like milk it will cost you .25 extra, while soft drinks and tea is included in the price. [11 May 2003 16:24:06]

Comfort food in a comforting place! Just like Mom's, without the trouble! Eat an affordable, well-balanced meal as you enjoy a variety of salads, vegetables, and meats. Amazing for $5.95 including drink and dessert. Tips not mandatory but certainly deserved by the friendly staff. You'll see people from all walks of life enjoying Max's home cooked food.
The ratings on this site don't fit a place like the Loudon Square Buffet. It is very basic, even worn, like an old time diner...but the warmth and friendliness make it a great place to eat. You'll feel welcome every time. Carry-Out is available, as well as catering and you'd be surprised at the number of companies who call on Max to feed a crowd. [23 Jan 2005 19:33:57]

Great Price...REAL homestyle country cooking While staying in Lexington I mentioned in an elevator that I missed my grandmother's country cooking. A local recommended Loudon Square Buffet. He did warn not to let the look of the building or interior scare us off. If we wanted fantastic traditionally fixed southern food that was the place to go. The place is somewhat scary looking...but whatever it lacks in fancy buildings and interior it more than makes up for in the best food I've had since grandmother passed away. Even my wife, who was at first very put off by the location and building wants to go back tomorrow to try the items she couldn't get to today. $6.50 gets all you can eat and drink...except milk cost 50 cents. When we opened the door the smells from the kitchen took me right back to Grandmother's cooking. Excellent Food...will go back anytime we're in town and looking for real food, real value and get people. The locals that recognized us as out of towners were helping us out by telling us where we get the bread and suggesting dishes to try. Great expereince. [26 Jun 2007 20:01:11]
