Go for the Alfredo
I like Papa John's crust mainly. And the breadsticks are pretty good, too. I had been ordering a lot more from them because they started having Cherry Coke, but then they suddenly discontinued that.

Actually, the last three times I ordered from this store, they were out of something, and one time they were out of the Alfredo topping (a bit discouraging since the ad campaign on TV was all about the Alfredo).

As of October, 2004, the standout item on the PJ menu is the Chipotle wings. Nicely spicy and cooked just right. With 10 wings for $5.99 they're comparable to the other pizza joints that offer them.

The average wait time for a PJ delivery is 45 minutes to an hour. The evening delivery group gets an extra star, as the weekday lunch delivery folks keep forgetting to bring the drinks.

The geeks among you might, like me, go for the online ordering option. You can play with your order until it's just what you like. Sometimes different combos will get you a price break you didn't expect. And they often offer online specials.

All in all, the Papa John's food is good, and they're ahead of the pack in the area of crust. They could do a little work on the delivery staff and keeping tabs on what they're running out of.    [12 Oct 2004 02:04:06]
