Description

The Black Forest is a small restaurant downtown that serves authentic German cuisine. The interior is quaint, with a interior deck, of sorts, and many photos and maps of Deutschland on the walls. It's worth chatting with the owner and the new (as of fall '04) chef for some good stories about Germany and the restaurant. It's been around a while. Also, outdoor seating is available when weather permits.

Willkommen to downtown eating
I first ate at the Black Forest sometime in the eighties on a roadtrip to Baton Rouge. It's a unique place to experience German food and beer, and in a great atmostphere. The bratwurst isn't the best, but it's pretty good.    []
