Great Place to Eat I use to live in Baton Rouge. This is one of the best places to eat Mexican food in this city. The food is always great. The prices are reasonable. And the service is excellent. [13 Jan 2005 15:52:04]

Ninfa's SUCKS! My friend and I had a nightmare-ish experience at Ninfa's this past Monday night (6/27/05). To try and make an EXTREMELY long story short, an apparent friend of our server intentionally poured an entire pitcher of ice cold water on the friend I was dining with, because our server thought that we were there to sabotage his night. HELLO - I'm almost 25 years old, and I promise I can think of much better things to do with my life. Unfortunately, it gets much worse! When Beth quietly accused him of drenching her on purpose, he stood up to the entire restaurant and started hollering and cussing, and I quote, "How dare you accuse me of something I didn't f***ing do, you f***ing, B*$%@." I followed him to the server station to try and quietly talk to him about what was going on, and he began screaming and cussing to the entire restaurant all over again about how crazy we were. Then, as much as I would love to take this back now, I poured the rest of my strawberry margaritta down his back as we walked out. He then proceeded to call me out, still hollering and cussing, and was trying to fight me in the middle of the section, telling me to "come back and handle my business." Seconds later, he picked up a drink from his CUSTOMER'S table and threw it at me 5 tables over, as I was walking away. Although I wish that was the end of the night, my friend and I then had to re-live the horror by repeating the story to the manager on duty. While doing so, two older men (approx. 40) walked over to us from the bar and hollered, "Quit your f***ing whining, you f***ing B*&%@#!" The nonsense from the two bar junkies continued the entire time my friend was telling the manager what had happened! As the victims of the most horrible experience of my life, all we got in return was a simple "I'm sorry." And supposedly the server was fired the next day. Although, and I quote, "It was very hard for me to fire such a good employee and a great friend," stated the General Manager of Ninfa's. So needless to say, my family, my friends, nor myself will EVER support Ninfa's restaurant again due to the complete humiliation I felt as I left that place. I will always associate with the worst night of my life! [01 Jul 2005 16:45:16]

Bull That story is a load of [expletive removed]. I used to work there many moons ago, and hate it more than anyone, but that story is overdone.
Don't get me wrong, you're my hero. I appreciate anyone who hates that nasty, sorry excuse for a restaurant. [19 Sep 2006 12:01:47]

Ninfa's-Wonderful We love Ninfa's. Good service, good food and the only restaurant in town with the infamous "green sauce". It is tomatilla sauce but most people think it is guacamole. Only one problem. They need to build another one! Parking is not good and it is there is almost always a wait. Original review date 10 Aug 2003. [15 Feb 2007 15:14:01]

Over priced for wannabe Mexican food We were very disappointed in our experience at Ninfa's tonight. While staying in Baton Rouge a few years ago we had a very nice visit. So when my fiance was there again for business, I drove up from FL knowing that we would eat there again. The margarita was not only $8.00, but was a mug full of awful. The chips dripped of grease and we were charged extra for salsa. Are you kidding me? Coming from a lady who grew up in Texas and New Mexico, I was shocked! [22 Mar 2007 01:10:13]

No More I use to be a huge Ninfa's fan. NO MORE, NO MORE, NO MORE. I recently went there for lunch. I ordered a dish that included fajitas. I asked the waiter for a small amount of cheese (my co-worker had to give me sour cream from her plate) and was told that a small condiment bowl of shredded cheese would cost me $1.50. What? How do you serve fajitas without cheese and sour cream? When I complained to the manager, he said he was sorry but that was the rule. SOME RULES ARE STUPID, SIR. I have noticed that the quality of the food has gone down in the past two years (greasy chips, watery drinks) but I keep getting sucked in because of the chips and salsa and green sauce. This is it, I am not going there anymore. To make this matter worse, my fajita beef was pretty rare and the waiter offered to take it back. He put my plate on a tray to take it back to the kitchen but then proceeded to bus the table adjacent to ours. If they had any communicable diseases I am sure that I am getting sick as we speak. LOUSY EXPERIENCE !!! [26 Apr 2007 14:04:32]

Ninfa's is Terrible Anyone who knows anything about actual Mexican food would realize that it's hardly better than Taco Bell -- and way over-priced for the quality. [10 Dec 2007 14:50:20]
