Mixed Review While the food, and the service were excellent, the management was definitely not handicapped friendly. The manager and his assistant watched us struggle to get a wheelchair through their 2 front glass doors, and offered no assistance. He canceled someone else's reservation, because they too said they were bringing a scooter, and he assumed that that was it duplicate reservation.
That experience when we first arrived, colored our whole experience at the restaurant. A call to the owner about this was never returned, the message, having been taken down by the manager.
We have a group of six that likes to try different restaurants and we return to ones we enjoy. This is no longer on our list. [10 Feb 2005 13:28:22]

Disappointed on both visits I visited this restaurant when it first opened. We have watched every restaurant in this location fail in the past few years and were hoping one would be there to stay...a good one! Well, Tryst has disappointed me twice.
The first time we waited forever for our food. When it came, one person's food was actually cold. Not even room temp. cold. Mine was room temp and sub-standard, particularly for the price (this is a spendy menu). My husband enjoyed his meal and has wanted to go back ever since. This weekend we decided to give it another chance. I regret doing so.
To start, our table was late despite having made a reservation. We were advised to sit at the bar, which we did. We finished one cocktail and went to check on the status of our table. The hostess said, where were you? Um, at the bar. Where you told us to go...
We sat down, waited ten minutes, had to ask for bread to be brought to the table. Were finally addressed by our waiter and then we waited. And waited. And waited. The food came. It was not hot. It was fine to the taste but when I'm paying $28 for a dish, I'd like it to be served to me hot.
Service is sub par at best. The waiters don't know the wine pairings. They should at a restaurant where the food is pricey, in my opinion. We had to ask for everything. There is no high standard of service here.
I won't give it a third try, particularly because on the way out, we witnessed a scuffle between one of the hosts and a few dinner guests. Regardless of what was exchanged, the management should have had the experience and class to keep it quiet or take it outside.
Not worth the money. Not worth the waiting. [09 May 2005 10:03:23]

Excellent We went there for my girlfriend's birthday. The ambience and the food was great. It did take a little while for our food to come out, but we were there to chat and have a nice night, not to eat quickly and leave. We will definitely go back. [17 Apr 2006 15:34:44]

Try the Brunch We went to Tryst for restaurant week and while the desserts were really great, it just seemed a little pricey for a normal night out. Then we realized they had a Sunday brunch. Drinks at Sunday brunch were expensive, but the live jazz is out of this world and the brunch menu is really fantastic. Brunch is also not overpriced here. Service was slow but our server was very friendly. We were glad not to be rushed so we could enjoy the jazz music. [18 Dec 2006 19:28:40]
