However, I ordered takeout which left much to be desired. The soup had an artifical flavor, perhaps from too much MSG, and could have used a lot more spices and vegetables. The fried rice was equally as uninteresting. The other common Chinese appetizer that I tried was the egg roll - usually a safe bet. This egg roll was practically inedible - only containing the terribly flavored cabbage and nothing else. I do hear the General Gau's chicken is pretty good. So perhaps the main dishes are worth a shot. [03 Mar 2004 10:38:23] Keep Driving I completely disagree with the other two reviewers on this page. I have found the food to be one of the best in Boston, a city where good Chinese food is hard to come by. My favorite dish they serve is the Hot Basil Noodles, although my husband swears by the General Gao's. The service, mostly from the take-out end, has been relatively quick and done with nothing but a smile. I would recommend. [13 Dec 2006 19:47:30]
