Decent Chinese Food My 5 year old son and I ate at the Asian Garden this afternoon. As we entered, the elderly grandmother waved us to a table while she sat shelling green beans; there were fish in fresh water in the tanks and the place looked clean. (I find many Boston Chinatown restaurants to be lacking in cleanliness.)
The dishes we had (chicken lo mein and beef broccoli with rice) were basic Chinese fare made with really fresh ingredients. Another table had very tasty looking lobster and the kitchen staff came out for their meal with a very enticing looking dish of fresh shrimp(with heads) and greens in a white sauce. The family atmosphere made the place more homey.
All in all, I recommend it for a very reasonable, uncrowded dinner.
I spent all of $12 for two dishes including rice and tea. [17 Nov 2004 19:16:45]
