Description

Although the local JP Licks ice cream mini-chain originated in Jamaica Plain (thus the "JP"), they have had several locations here. The latest and largest offers a lot of exposed brick, and both indoor and outdoor seats. In addition to cones, smoothies, and other fountain offerings, the shop sells ice cream cakes, as well as pints and quarts for takeout.

In the mornings, coffee and baked goods are popular.

Best Ice Cream
They are open for breakfast... But I always go there after dinner when we're in JP.... Great variety, wonderful toppings, great place to people watch.    [23 Dec 2002 15:32:57]

JP Licks: It Could Be Better
Mildly pleasant, but skimpy portions for the money. Compared with Kimball Farms, in Bedford/Concord and Westford, downright stingy. Some flavors too sugary and overpowering of the listed flavors, and many peoples' favorites like buttercrunch are just not available.    [18 Jul 2003 08:39:07]
