Description
No facials or herbal wraps here; for those who don't know, a "spa" in the Boston area is another name for a convenience store. But this isn't just a convenience store (and yes, it does have some typical convenience store items for sale), either. It offers subs and pizzas for takeout or eating at the few seats in the shop. The decor is basic, like most pizza and sub shops.

Great I go to the Brookline Spa several times a week. They have a lot of regulars which is a testament to the quality of their food. Their sandwiches are great and their chocolate chip cookies are perfect. The Spa has a wide selection of candy, chips, beverages (including wine and beer) and frozen yogurt. I have never gotten any food from the Spa that I wasn't 100% satisfied with. [23 Apr 2003 16:09:31]

The Best Subs Ever I moved to California a year ago and the food here doesn't come close to the spa. Everytime I go back I have to go at least a couple times. People in Brookline should be grateful they live so close to the best subs in the country. [01 May 2003 15:19:48]

The Best I don't get too much variety when I go there, but whatever I get I absolutely love. However, I think my favorite part about the spa is its friendly atmosphere. [23 Jun 2003 12:22:22]

That's One Busy Shop I worked as a painter in Boston and much of my work took me to the Brookline area. All morning I looked forward to the break in the middle of the day when I could ring in to Brookline Spa and get them to prepare me a hot chicken salad with oil and vinegar dressing and a side of pita. Simply sensuous! [26 Nov 2003 19:50:10]

Nothing Better The absolute best. I remember going to the spa when I was 4 years old and seeing the same people that I see now. The food is unreal [19 Feb 2004 15:51:22]

A Pretty Good Sub Shop Basically this is a good sub shop, with friendly staff. It may even be the best sub shop in Brookline. Are these subs the best ever? Not in my opinion. I don't even think they're the best in the Boston area. With a little fine-tuning, like a better grade of bread, or minor changes in their other ingredients, they could compete. But for now, they're just better than most.
The best part about their menu is that they have a large, varied list of subs, going well beyond the same old standards offered by every neighborhood Greek sub/pizza shop around here. They really do have a choice for everyone. [19 Feb 2004 18:12:32]

The Passion of the Spa Beyond the shadow of a doubt, this is the best sub shop/pizza joint in the greater Boston area. My pops and I order from the spa at least twice a week. The service is superb and the local spirit is alive and flowing within this small but excellent business. It has a blue collar essence to it that makes you feel welcome. I recommend the next time you're in the area, give this place the respect it deserves, and buy something to eat. You won't regret it. [15 Dec 2004 15:25:08]

This Place Is the Best I always get the Lucky Gansta wrap - nothing beats it. I travel here from Newton for lunch often. It is worth the trip and getting yelled at for taking too long of a lunch. [31 Jan 2005 12:01:47]
