Tiny Restaurant, Good Food This really is a mom-and-pop style Korean place, with "mom" taking most of the orders, and "pop" doing most of the cooking. There are only a few small tables, and most of the business seems to be take-out. Service is limited but friendly - you order at a counter, and bus your own table.
The food ranges from very good to so-so. Most dishes come with a seaweed soup, some kimchee, and rice. The bulgoki is a little sweet for my taste, and the chapchae could use a little more vegetable or meat (especially since it is served with rice, making a very starchy meal). They do, however, have a very good rendition of the Korean soup kimchee jigae (spicy kimchee and pork soup), for a very reasonable price. Their spicy pork bulgogi is very good, although it could also use a little less sugar. [29 Mar 2003 16:08:09]

Good Food, No Frills I live up the block from the Han River and eat there anytime my wife is away (she does not like Korean food) or the opportunity presents itself. I love the home style feel and taste of this place. My wife and I are a moving soon and this is the place I will miss the most (and Waltham isn't exactly swimming in Korean restaurants).
The bul go ki is very good and is one of the main staples in my rotation. It is just as good as the gal bi and slightly cheaper. The other two dishes i usually get are the chap chae and beef fried rice. While both of these dishes are quite good, they are both a little light in the meat portions.
For the appetizers I would recommend the vegetable dumpling soup as well as the sweet chicken wing which is similar to a loli-pop style chicken wing covered in sweet sauce and a little sesame seed (Jaes Cafe makes a similar wing that is also quite good). [11 Nov 2007 17:55:14]
