New Name but Mostly as Before The Cafe Europa is now the Stoli Bar and Grill. The interior has been redecorated and made more comfortable, but it appears to me that the menu is much as before. I see a French influence here with crepes / blintzes, cream sauces, puff pastry appetizers. The food is uniformly good, the salads nice and fresh. The kabobs especially tasty and tender. Recommended; moderate cost. [Submitted 28 May 2005] [08 Jun 2005 14:52:55]

A Disapointment Stoli is pleasant and the service was fine (we were the only people there for the first hour, at 6:30 pm. on a Thursday). But I was disapointed with the food. The bland beef stroganoff ($17) was served in a red pot, separate from the dinner plate, with very little sauce, so it was somewhat dry and uninteresting. The dinner plate had a huge mound of very ordinary mashed potatoes with no detectable seasoning and a few small, thin slices of mealy tomatos. No sauce on either. The borsch (shouldn't that be spelled with a "t"?) was better described simply as tomato-cabbage soup. If there was a beet in it, it escaped me. Would I go back? Probably not. Although we did enjoy the $26 Pinot Grigio. [12 Jan 2006 22:09:16]

Restaurant Worth a Trip I went to Stoli for the first time last week. I enjoyed my appetizer (seared yellowfin tuna, one of the menu specials), and the apple pie dessert was tasty too. My friend had the trout (also a special), which I thought was very good as well. Third person tried the Georgian salad (they served a large portion) and the pork chop for entree and was very satisfied. Next time I’d love to try their sturgeon.
They have an extensive menu so you'll likely find something that works for you.
Overall, I thought the food was pretty good and the wine list interesting. [25 Jan 2006 15:42:10]

Ditch the TV and Window Booth, Please The "improved" interior drives me away from what used to be one of our favorite neighborhood restaurants. The table in the window was our favorite spot; we loved watching the street parade over delicious meals. Now, the view from the best table in the room is blocked by a tacky wooden booth. Meanwhile, a huge plasma TV screen now dominates the room, even from the street. Count me out, I want no part of the place until these "changes" are reversed.
