The Red House is located in a renovated private residence in Harvard Square. The menu is contemporary, with American and Italian influences.
After 5pm, discounted flat rate parking is available in the nearby University Place and Charles Square parking garages. Street parking is available, but can be difficult to find in this neighborhood.
The listed hours are for the restaurant. The bar is open Tue-Thu Noon-Midnight, Fri-Sat Noon-1am, and Sun 5pm-Midnight.

Red House
Atmosphere was very nice, especially the bar area. Very pleasant waitstaff. However, the food was extremely disappointing. Unfortunately, not a place I would recommend. [02 Apr 2004 16:23:06]

Has potential, needs work
The location is sweet, tucked off of JFK street, in a renovated house. Try to get a table in the front room or in the cozy bar area. The back, larger room is kind of sterile. The menu sounds great, but the quality of the dishes didn't really measure up. Israeli couscous seemed to come out of a large batch of premade, ditto for the steamed artichoke - over-steamed and not very flavorful. Waitstaff was stiff, but responsive. [28 Feb 2005 15:58:07]

The Red House
We have had dinner at The Red House on two occasions. Exquisite atmosphere, attentive service combined with food that was among the best in the Boston area make this a restaurant one we hope to return to often. Portions are very large so we shared the caesar salad. Individual plates were provided. Two size offerings of several entrees are listed on the menu. Excellent wine list.

Good dinner!!!
We did enjoy the restaurant very much. The quality is good, price/value is excellent!
